Dave Hogg, John Lecters, Rod Turner and his son Little Rod, fished with us the second week in June 2004. Dave and Rod were on vacation from the Middle East and John from Nigeria. This was their fourth visit to the lodge. Their first day was slow but the following three days were very good with a steady Yellow-fin Tuna bite in the 30 pound range. On their second day we did an overnight trip to Hannibal Banks for a morning of Marlin fishing. They a three had Marlin strikes on live bait, one of which Little Rod hooked up and fought for about 10 minutes before loosing it with a backlash. We estimate it was about 300 pounds. The final day they caught 15 Wahoo plus Cubera Snapper, Roosterfish and Amberjack. We saw lots of Sailfish but none were interested in our rigged Panama Baits.
Irwin Ruiz, Jimmy Garland, Rick McCarthy and Bobby Braun from Biloxi, Mississippi fished with us the last week of June. This was their first visit to the lodge. The overall bite was slow but they did catch Cubera Snappers, Amberjacks, Yellow-fin Tuna and a nice Roosterfish.
