Kirk Kenfield from Montana & his dad Mike along with Nate & his dad Bob Rodgers, all from New England made their first visit to Panama and Rio Negro during the 3rd week in March 2005. The fishing bite was very good their first two days with several very large Grouper, Cubera Snapper, Amberjack, and smaller Roosterfish hook-ups. Also their second day they had a brief hook-up on a Blue Marlin within 100 meters of shore while slow trolling baits for Roosterfish. Their third day out fishing, the bite slowed for live bates but they all hooked up on plenty of smaller snapper and Blue Trevally on poppers.
Gary Krenz, Tom Rutledt, Dan Stiel and John Larson, all from Wisconsin also fished with us in the 3rd week of March. The bite for Cubera Snappers and Amberjacks was on every morning and everyone caught several big fish. The afternoons produced several nice Roosterfish. They had many cut offs in rocks below from encounters with big mystery fish. John managed to successfully wrestle one of the mystery fish out of the rocks that turned out to be a Broomtail Grouper. In all, they counted over 15 different species of fish caught during their visit.
Alex & his daughter Sara went out for a day of fishing in the last week of March. They cruised by Cebaco Bay and picked up one of Alex's young Munchkins from Cardenas days, Capt. Sidney Little . They got into a good morning bite that produced several big Broomtail Grouper, Cubera & Crimson Snappers and Amberjack.
