One 1 May, Miguel Vallarino and his two young sons, from Panama City, Panama, fished with us on 1 May. They caught some nice trophie fish on live baits. They were followed by Jerry Wilkoswski from Vienna, Virginia, son "Kip" from Colorado Springs and son-in-law Nick Bollini also from Vienna made their first visit to Rio Negro during the second week in May 2005. The weather and sea conditions were very good and the fishing bite fair. They caught several Amberjack and Roosterfish on Live bait but overall, bait fishing was slow. Trolling, Jigging and popping produced more strikes. They caught lots of football size tuna and large Cero Mackerel on Repalas and poppers. Kip caught a 40 pound Wahoo on a Repala trolled behind a shrimp boat. They had several encounters with big Cubera Snappers, Jerry had a spectacular hookup and loss on a popper and Nick had one chasing a hound fish on popper all around the boat.
