Dr. Vince Ward and dad Herman fished with Alex and Tom, 6-8 November 2003. Our primary quarry was Wahoo which proved easy to find but difficult to catch. The water off Punta Mariato was green and dirty so we fished mostly near Bahia Honda. The catch included many small Yellow-fin Tuna and 7 Wahoo, the largest being about 70 pounds.

After spending several days Snook and offshore fishing with Carl Winkler in the Bay of Panama near Panama City, Andrew and Ga Inman from England made their second visit to the Rio Negro Sport Fishing Lodge, during the week of 23 November 2003. Ga relaxed at the lodge while Andrew went fishing for several days with Tom Giles and Alex Livingston. There was a consistent daily bite with small Yellow-fin Tuna and large Cero Mackerels. We spanned all our fishing spots between Punta Marato and Isla Coiba, fast trolling for Wahoo but only caught Tuna and Mackerel.  Our traditional goggle eye baits were difficult to catch but we did find and catch lots of large threadfin herring that proved deadly for Snappers in the 10 - 15 pound range when slow trolled on Andrew's light tackle. Also among Andrew's catch were several nice Roosterfish on live bait and a 25 pound Cubera caught popping with a light spinning rig.
